My invite link doesn't work
This invite link is invalid or has been revoked? The link may have expired, run out of uses, been revoked, or been cut short when it was copied.
Most often the link was cut short. A TACENZA invite link has two parts, and the part after the # is a secret that never reaches our server. If a chat app, email or document dropped that part, the link can’t open. Ask for the link again and copy the whole thing, all the way to the end.
If you see “This invite link is invalid or has been revoked.” with a complete link, one of these is the reason:
- It expired. Admins can make links that stop working after 1 hour, 1 day or 7 days.
- It ran out of uses. A link can be limited to 1, 10 or 100 people.
- It was revoked. Admins can switch a link off at any time, and it stops working immediately.
- The group was deleted. Deleting a group removes all its invite links.
In every case, ask someone in the group for a new link.
If you’re an admin: make a new link
- Open the group and choose Manage group › Invite links.
- Choose Create invite link. You can pick when it Expires, how many Uses it allows, and whether Admins approve new members.
- Choose Copy and send it.
To stop a link, choose Revoke next to it. Only the group’s admins see this page.
A link with Admins approve new members turned on is a good choice for links you share widely. People who use it send a request, and nobody gets in until an admin approves.
Other problems
- “Too many attempts.” Using invite links is limited. Wait the time shown and try once.
- “You’re banned from this group.” A working link doesn’t get past a ban.
- The link opens, but nothing happens. Log in first. If you opened it while logged out, Chat says “You opened an invite link. Log in or create an account to join.”

Still stuck?
If a brand-new, complete link doesn’t work, contact support. Don’t include the link itself if the group is private – describe the problem instead.
