How do I report abuse?
Report a message to a group's moderators, block someone, report spam in TACENZA Mail, or tell the TACENZA team about accounts, groups or bots breaking the rules.
What to do depends on where it happened. Because TACENZA Chat messages are end-to-end encrypted, we can’t read them – so a report only contains what you choose to share.
In a Chat group
Open the message’s options and choose Report. Say what’s wrong, then choose Send report. Your app sends a copy of the message, decrypted, to the group’s moderators in private, encrypted messages. It goes to them, not to TACENZA.
If you see “This group has no moderators to report to.”, leave the group or block the person, and report it to us (below).
In a 1:1 chat
- Block the person – see How do I block someone?
- If it came in as a message request, blocking or deleting it also lowers the sender’s limits for a while.
- Turn on Message requests in Settings › Privacy Center so strangers’ first messages wait in a separate folder.
To the TACENZA team
For accounts, groups, bots or Discover listings that break our rules, contact support. Include:
- the @username, group name or bot involved;
- what happened and when;
- anything you’re comfortable sharing, such as a description or a screenshot.
We act on what we can see – for example reports people send us, public Discover listings, usernames and behaviour such as breaking limits. We can suspend accounts and bots that abuse the service.
In TACENZA Mail
Open the message and choose Report. Pick a reason – spam, phishing, harassment or something else – and add a note if you like. Spam and phishing are moved to your Spam folder. See My TACENZA Mail account is suspended for what happens to reported accounts.
A security problem
To report a vulnerability in TACENZA, use GitHub’s private reporting: report a vulnerability. Please don’t post it publicly first.
If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.
