How do I change my plan?

Upgrade, downgrade or switch between monthly and yearly TACENZA billing. How changes are charged or credited, and what happens to your files.

Go to Settings › Plan and choose See plans (on Free) or Change plan (on a paid plan). Pick a plan and a billing period, and confirm.

The plans

Free Plus Pro
Monthly €0 €4.99 €9.99
Yearly – €49.99 €99.99
Storage 1 GB 5 GB 15 GB
Devices 2 5 10
Active bots 1 3 10
Largest attachment 25 MB 100 MB 500 MB

Prices include VAT where it applies. Encryption, protected chats, disappearing messages and groups with no member limit are the same on every plan – paid plans add capacity, never privacy. Features marked Soon on the pricing page aren’t built yet.

How changes are charged

  • From Free: payment opens in Stripe, in a new tab. Your plan updates in Chat once the payment is confirmed – usually within a minute.
  • Upgrading (for example Plus to Pro) happens at once. You pay the difference for the rest of this period.
  • Downgrading (for example Pro to Plus) also happens at once. The unused part of this period is credited.
  • Monthly or yearly: you can switch between them in Stripe’s portal. Choose Payment and invoices in Settings › Plan.
  • Back to Free: cancel your subscription. See How do I cancel my subscription?

After a downgrade

Nothing is ever deleted because of a plan change.

  1. Storage over the limit: your files stay, but new uploads pause until you’re under the limit. Delete messages with attachments to free space.
  2. Devices over the limit: every device stays signed in. You can’t add a new one until you sign one out.
  3. Bots over the limit: they keep working. You can’t create or switch on another until you’re under the limit.

If it doesn’t work

  • You paid, but the plan didn’t change. Go back to the Chat tab you came from and wait a minute.
  • “Payment cancelled. Nothing was charged.” You left Stripe’s page before paying. Try again when you’re ready.
