I've reached my device limit
Seeing Too many devices when you log in? Sign one device out and continue, manage devices in Settings, or move to a plan with more devices.
When you log in on a new device and your plan’s devices are all in use, Chat shows Too many devices with a list of the devices you’re signed in on. Pick one you don’t need and choose Sign out and continue. The device you sign out keeps nothing and has to log in again.
How many devices each plan includes
| Plan | Devices |
|---|---|
| Free | 2 |
| Plus | 5 |
| Pro | 10 |
Manage your devices
Go to Settings › Devices to see where you’re signed in, and when each device was last used.
- Choose Sign out next to a device to remove it.
- Choose Sign out all other devices to keep only the one you’re using.
Devices you haven’t used for 30 days drop off the list by themselves.
Why a device counts twice
Each browser and each app is its own device. So these all count separately:
- Different browsers on the same computer.
- The desktop app and a browser on the same computer.
- A browser after you cleared its data – it gets a new device id, and the old one stays on the list until it’s signed out or drops off after 30 days.
- Private or incognito windows, which forget their device id when closed.
Reloading the page is still the same device.
Need more devices?
Move to a plan with more devices in Settings › Plan. See How do I change my plan?
If you move to a plan with fewer devices, nothing is signed out: every device keeps working. You just can’t add a new one until you’re below the limit.
Don’t recognise a device in the list? Sign it out, then change your password in Settings › Account – that logs out every other device too.
